Crescent Beach Sewer UpgradeCrescent Beach Sewer Upgrade<div class="ExternalClass9BA29FA545E84CDE9171022D71A34882"><p>Metro Vancouver is replacing the existing Crescent Beach sewer, a large pipe that collects wastewater from the City of Surrey and White Rock with a new, ​​larger pipe. Impacts and mitigationImpacts and mitigation<div class="ExternalClassA84D635E67BE4769AA494262E7F6520C"><p>Impacts associated with this project may include:<br></p><ul><li>Construction noise and vibration from heavy equipment<br></li><li>Overnight noise from bypass pumps and generator equipment required to run 24-7</li><li>Construction vehicles and equipment in the area</li><li>Minor temporary traffic pattern changes and delays<br></li><li>Dust<br></li></ul><p>Traffic, cyclist, and pedestrian access will be affected. Information updates will be​ provided to residents and businesses as construction proceeds. </p><p>There will be temporary lane closures and detours in effect. Please follow the direction of traffic control personnel and detour signage near the construction areas. </p>​​​<br></div>
Work hoursWork hours<div class="ExternalClassB227AA0C6D174274B706890349712EEE"><p>Work will generally occur Monday to Friday between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm. To reduce noise impacts to the area, heavier impact and noisy activities will be limited to daytime hours from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm. </p><p>Starting mid-August 2023 through to the end of the project, temporary bypass pumps and generator equipment will be running 24 hours a day, seven days a week. <br></p><p>Crews will make efforts to complete work in a timely manner and to reduce impacts to local residents and businesses wherever possible. There may be times when crews will be required to work extended hours to complete specific tasks and stay on schedule. All work will comply with local bylaws or granted bylaw variances. </p> ​<br></div>
EngagementEngagement<div class="ExternalClassCC4D23050008478BBFC92A837124B22E"><p>Metro Vancouver is committed to working closely with the surrounding community and the City of Surrey to ensure concerns and interests are considered. </p><p>A Community Liaison has been assigned to this project and is available to meet with residents and community members to discuss the project impacts, compile public feedback, and be available to address any questions or concerns. </p>​<br></div>
