Crescent Beach Sewer UpgradeCrescent Beach Sewer Upgrade<div class="ExternalClass9BA29FA545E84CDE9171022D71A34882"><p>Metro Vancouver is replacing the existing Crescent Beach sewer, a large pipe that collects wastewater from the City of Surrey and White Rock with a new, ​​larger pipe. Once installed, the new pipe will accommodate population growth within the region and will ensure the continued protection of public health and the environment.</p><p>Construction will take place in multiple phases ​over the next several years using open-trench and tunneling construction methods.​ Crews began construction of this project in Fall 2021 and expect to be compete by late 2023. <br></p></div>City of Surrey

Sewer Construction Work – UpdateSewer Construction Work – Update<div class="ExternalClassBE4619ED82574C4EB28BCAF10C50AB26"><p>Construction is progressing on upgrades to the Cresecent Beach Sewer. Once installed, the new pipe will accommodate population growth and ensure the continued protection of public health and the environment. Work is advancing along the pipe alignment in scheduled segments. Impacts and MitigationImpacts and Mitigation<div class="ExternalClassA84D635E67BE4769AA494262E7F6520C"><p>Impacts associated with this project may include:</p><ul><li>Temporary traffic pattern changes and delays </li><li>Construction vehicles and equipment in the area </li><li>Parking restrictions </li><li>Construction noise and vibration</li><li>Dust<br></li></ul><p>Traffic, cyclist, and pedestrian access will be affected. Information updates will be​ provided to residents and businesses as construction proceeds. </p><p>There will be temporary lane closures and detours in effect. Please follow the direction of traffic control personnel and detour signage near the construction areas. </p>​​​<br></div>
Work HoursWork Hours<div class="ExternalClassB227AA0C6D174274B706890349712EEE"><p>Work will generally occur Monday to Friday between 7:00 am and 8:00 pm, and on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. Crews will make efforts to complete the work in a timely manner and to reduce impacts to local residents and businesses. There may be times when crews will be required to work extended hours to complete specific tasks and stay on schedule. All work will comply with local bylaws or granted bylaw variances. </p> ​<br></div>
EngagementEngagement<div class="ExternalClassCC4D23050008478BBFC92A837124B22E"><p>Metro Vancouver is committed to working closely with the surrounding community and the City of Surrey to ensure concerns and interests are considered. </p><p>A Community Liaison has been assigned to this project and will be available to meet with residents and community members to discuss the project impacts, compile public feedback and be available to address any questions or concerns. </p>​<br></div>
