Managing growth to protect people and the environment
Metro Vancouver plans for the region's future growth by managing the Regional Growth Strategy in collaboration with its 23 member jurisdictions. Together, this work helps to:
- Protect environmentally sensitive areas, agricultural lands, and industrial/employment areas
- Focus new development in urban centres near public transit
- Ensure infrastructure like water, energy, and transportation can be delivered efficiently
