Bylaws are enacted by three of Metro Vancouver’s legal entities:
- Metro Vancouver Regional District (MVRD), formerly called the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD);
- Greater Vancouver Water District (GVWD); and
- Greater Vancouver Sewerage and Drainage District (GVS&DD).
An amendment bylaw amends an original bylaw, and an unofficial consolidation combines an original bylaw with all amendments made to that bylaw over time. An unofficial consolidation serves as a reference tool for convenience purposes only and is not a legal document.
To find a bylaw:
- Search by keyword using quotes. For example: “Election” or “Remuneration”.
- Search by bylaw number using quotes. For example, “1102”.
- Search using the filters located on the right-hand side of this webpage.
- Search using Boolean operators, such as AND, OR, and NOT alongside keywords.
