Air Quality Warning EndedAir Quality Warning Ended<div class="ExternalClass4548A89C2885409F9ABFC8F80972F0CC"><p>Metro Vancouver Regional District has ended the <strong>ground-level ozone</strong> (smog) and <strong>fine particulate matter</strong> (PM2.5) air quality warning that has been in effect since July 20, 2026.</p><p>Air quality has improved due to a change in the weather and wind direction.<br></p><p><strong>Air quality warning has ended for:</strong></p><p>Metro Vancouver<br></p><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li><p>Northwest – Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, North Shore<br></p></li><li><p>Southwest – Richmond, Delta, Tsawwassen</p></li><li><p>Northeast – Tri-Cities, Pitt Meadows, Maple Ridge</p></li><li><p>Southeast – Surrey, Langley, White Rock</p></li></ul><p>Fraser Valley</p><ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li><p>Central – Abbotsford, Mission</p></li><li><p>Eastern – Chilliwack, Agassiz, Hope</p></li></ul><p>Metro Vancouver works in cooperation with Environment and Climate Change Canada, Fraser Valley Regional District, and BC Ministry of Environment and Parks to look after air quality.</p><p>Information about real-time air quality readings for Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley communities and potential health impacts can be found at <a href="https://gis.metrovancouver.org/maps/Air">airmap.ca</a> or <a href="https://www.env.gov.bc.ca/epd/bcairquality/readings/find-stations-map.html">gov.bc.ca/airqualitymap</a>.​<br></p></div>7/23/2026 7:00:00 AMMetro Vancouver Media Relationsmedia@metrovancouver.org
