Widgeon Marsh Regional Park

Widgeon Marsh Regional Park is a beautiful place filled with wetlands (e.g. marshes, bogs), forests and sweeping mountain views.

Although it’s not currently open to the public, the park has an approved new management plan. That plan has four clear goals that provide a framework to design the park:

  • Protect and enhance the park’s ecological values Develop an approach to protect and manage the many habitats and ecosystems in the park – especially those that are sensitive.
  • Connect visitors to the park’s natural values and cultural heritage Provide opportunities to learn more about nature in the park and the cultural history of the area through public programs and on site interpretive elements.
  • Collaborate with First Nations Engage with First Nations to protect important natural and cultural areas and resources.
  • Balance public use with ecological values Design trails, day-use areas and other facilities that will let people connect with nature while protecting the park’s important natural areas.
