It is habitat for variety of species including western toads, red-legged frogs, salam​​anders, sandhill cranes, owls, woodpeckers, beavers, bears, deer and more. Edge Barn and heritage apple trees are reminders of the early pioneers. The trip is 3.2 km return. Allow time to view exhibits at the Heritage Area. It is flat with one gentle hill (about 7%).</li><li><p>Houston Trail is a 4 km loop through tall forest and with views facing out towards Langley Bog. It has rolling hills, some with some steep sections (up to 23%).</p></li></ul></div><p>​To see al​l the trails in the park, <a href="/services/regional-parks/Documents/derby-reach-park-map.pdf" target="_blank">view the park map</a><a>.<br></a></p><a> </a></div><div class="ExternalClass5C10AC9A32B740D6B70547A8DE713160"> <p>Dogs must be under control at all times. Day use is permitted in vacant campsites November - February.</p><p>For campground detai​​​ls and to reserve a campsite, see <a href="/services/regional-parks/facility/edgewater-bar-camping">Edgewater Bar Campground</a>.<br></p><div class="ExternalClassB9E7D0360E134AA082E9C7C8B2FFDA66"><div><p>Tidal fishing in the Fraser.</p><div><p>​Fishing in Met​​ro Vancouver regional parks is subject to regulations set out by the Provincial Government for fresh water and by the Federal Government for tidal waters.</p><p>The <a title="Please visit the website for more information about BC Recreational Freshwater Fishing Licences" href="https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/sports-culture/recreation/fishing-hunting/fishing/recreational-freshwater-fishing-licence" target="_blank">BC Ministry of Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture</a> can provide informatio​​n about freshwater fishing regulations and licenses.</p><p>Th​e <a href="http://www.pac.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/recfish/Licensing/info_e.htm" target="_blank">Department of Fisheries and Oceans</a> can provide information about fishing in tidal waters and licenses.</p></div></div></div><div class="ExternalClass7BFFAD8ABA8D43EAA43EC54424933434"><p><a href="/services/regional-parks/public-safety">Prepare for your vis​it to a regional park before you leave home.​</a><br></p></div><div class="ExternalClass5C15734205314375AC17C0C05191FA62"><div> <div class="ExternalClassCF6EF7CA7FD549E8ACCACADE6AD5BE6F"><p> A management plan for Derby Reach Regional Park was completed in 1999 and ​​guides Metro Vancouver's management of the park's resources and activities to ensure a balance between environmental protection and safe, enjoyable public use.</p><p>The Langley Bog portion of Derby Reach Regional Park is not currently acce​ssible to the public for safety reasons.</p></div></div></div><div class="ExternalClass42E06A42B52B446F8FFC177F1D94A65A"><p>​Bears, cougars, and coyotes pass through this park from time to time. If you encoun​ter any of these animals, stay calm, keep children and pets close to you, and back away. Never feed, disturb or approach wildlife, or leave any garbage behind.​<br></p></div><div class="ExternalClass6CB49087AAEA4D33B49969B2403F44D6"> <p>Toilets at Edgewater Bar and the Heritage Area are wheelchair accessible. Camps​ites are available near the wheelchair accessible pit toilets near Edgewater Bar Picnic Shelter.</p> <p>Edge Trail generally has a firm to semi-firm fine gravel surface with some slopes up to 8% for short distances. The trail is at minimum 1.5 m wide, 880 m long.</p> <p>​Edge Farm Trail is 1.5 m wide with a semi firm fine gravel surface. The trai​l is 1.6 km long.<br></p> <p>​The Fort-to Fort Trail and some foreshore access points are hard packed.
