It is habitat for variety of species including western toads, red-legged frogs, salam​​anders, sandhill cranes, owls, woodpeckers, beavers, bears, deer and more. Edge Barn and heritage apple trees are reminders of the early pioneers. The trip is 3.2 km return. Allow time to view exhibits at the Heritage Area. If you encoun​ter any of these animals, stay calm, keep children and pets close to you, and back away. Camps​ites are available near the wheelchair accessible pit toilets near Edgewater Bar Picnic Shelter.</p> <p>Edge Trail generally has a firm to semi-firm fine gravel surface with some slopes up to 8% for short distances. The trail is at minimum 1.5 m wide, 880 m long.</p> <p>​Edge Farm Trail is 1.5 m wide with a semi firm fine gravel surface. The trai​l is 1.6 km long.<br></p> <p>​The Fort-to Fort Trail and some foreshore access points are hard packed.
