Burnaby Lake Regional Park Management Plan

Overview

Burnaby Lake Regional Park Mangement Plan

Help shape the future of Burnaby Lake Regional Park.

Metro Vancouver is working with the City of Burnaby to develop a 20-year management plan for Burnaby Lake Regional Park and your input matters.

This plan will guide how we care for and improve the park for decades to come, and focus on:

  • Protecting natural ecosystems
  • Supporting safe and sustainable park access
  • Improving aging infrastructure
  • Balancing the needs of all park users

Engagement

The purpose of Phase 1 engagement was to gather input and identify opportunities for the Burnaby Lake Regional Park Management Plan. The first phase of public engagement took place between October 14 and November 30, 2025. During this time, Metro Vancouver invited park visitors to complete a survey and attend pop-up events. Thank you to everyone who participated.

Metro Vancouver is continuing to engage with First Nations, key agencies, and community groups.

Next steps

Over winter and spring 2026, staff will review feedback and develop a draft management plan. In summer and fall 2026, staff will share the Phase 1 engagement summary and seek feedback on the draft before refining and finalizing it.
