Winston Street Sewer ProjectWinston Street Sewer Project

The Winston Street Sewer carries wastewater from the City of Burnaby to the Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant in the City of Delta. To accommodate future growth in the City of Burnaby, and ensure continued protection of public health and the environment, Metro Vancouver is replacing the existing pipe with a new, larger pipe. It will be approximately 3.2 kilometers long and be installed by open trench and tunneling methods.

Work is ocurring over several years in phases. Tunneling construction for Phase Two started in May 2022 and is expected to be complete by the end of 2024, with restoration to follow.

Fact Sheet - Winston Street Sewer

Winston Street, from Lougheed Highway to east of Piper Avenue, City of Burnaby
