Seymour Water Main – Riverside Drive Condition AssessmentSeymour Water Main – Riverside Drive Condition Assessment<div class="ExternalClassF86E2EBEFF164B5E809AD73A7E81F8FF"><p>Metro Vancouver is inspecting the two water mains that support the operation of the Seymour Capilano Filtration Plant and provide drinking water to the District of North Vancouver and Village of Belcarra. This is planned maintenance work to extend the service life of the water mains and minimize unplanned water service disruptions.​<br></p><p>Construction activities for this work will include site preparation, excavation, condition assessment of the water mains, and surface restoration. </p><p>During this time, the west side of Riverside Drive near Chapman Way will be closed during March 2026, and Riverside Bridge will be closed during April 2026.</p></div>District of North VancouverProject

Impacts and mitigationImpacts and mitigation<div class="ExternalClass09EE90BB98284E6292D290B3035738AC"><p>Metro Vancouver is committed to minimizing construction impacts whenever possible. However, we recognize this construction may impact you and the community. We anticipate the following impacts: </p><p><strong>Early March to mid-April </strong></p><p>Traffic: The west side of Riverside Drive, near Chapman Way, will be closed to vehicle traffic. Two way traffic will be maintained on the east side. </p><p>Pedestrian Mobility & Parking: Temporary parking restrictions will be in place near the work areas. </p><p>Noise: There will be moderate noise from the use of heavy machinery. </p><p><strong>Throughout April</strong></p><p>Traffic: There will be no traffic impacts during this time. </p><p>Pedestrian Mobility & Parking: Riverside Bridge will be closed to the public during daytime construction hours but will be open Monday to Friday from 8:00 pm to 6:30 am, Saturday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 am, and all day on Sunday. </p><p>Noise: There will be moderate noise from the use of heavy machinery.</p></div>
Work hoursWork hours<div class="ExternalClass0B9C8B55DC9644B8B57AC9F3EA2E7BCB"><p>Typical work hours will be: </p><ul><li><strong>Monday to Friday:</strong>​ 7:00 am to 8:00 pm </li><li><strong>Saturday:</strong> 9:00 am to 5:00 pm </li><li><strong>Sunday and holiday:</strong> No work planned</li></ul><p>There may be times when construction crews will need to work longer hours to complete critical activities safely and efficiently. Metro Vancouver will notify the community about work outside of the bylaw hours.</p></div>
