Stoney Creek Sewer Upgrade Stoney Creek Sewer Upgrade <div class="ExternalClass19FC9BEADF2A46F8884F5F6415427B08"><p>The Stoney Creek Sewer is a large pipe that moves wastewater collected from communities in ​Burnaby, Coquitlam, and Port Moody to the Annacis Island Wastewater Treatment Plant in Delta for treatment.</p><p>Metro Vancouver is constructing a new sewer pipe in Coquitlam and Burnaby to ensure the continued protection of public health and the environment. When complete, the new pipe will improve sewer service in the area by minimizing system backups and spills, supporting regional growth, and protecting Stoney Creek. </p><p>The project will be completed in two sections and is approximately three kilometers long. Construction will use open-trench and tunneling methods.</p><p>The Stoney Creek Sewer Upgrade consists of the following sections:</p><ul><li> <a href="/services/liquid-waste/stoney-creek-sewer-upgrade-coquitlam-section" title="Coquitlam Section">Coquitlam Sec​tion</a>​: Extends from Chapman Avenue to Rathburn Drive in Coquitlam.<br></li><li> <a href="/services/liquid-waste/stoney-creek-sewer-upgrade-burnaby-section" title="Burnaby Section​">Burnaby Section​</a>: ​Construction is expected to begin in 2027.​​<br></li></ul></div>City of Coquitlam and BurnabyProject
