Northwest Langley Wastewater Treatment Plant ExpansionNorthwest Langley Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion<div class="ExternalClassFC27B14E773549EA9E4C6E5D83B7E46F"><p>The existing plant was constructed as a secondary wastewater treatment facility in 1978. The plant was designed to provide services to the approximately 30,000 people residing in northwest Langley. The current expansion design will allow service to be expanded to include the communities of Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows and will serve over 280,000 people after completion in 2030.<br></p><p>Significant ground improvements will be undertaken to ensure operation in the event of an earthquake, including raising the entire site above the 1-in-200-year flood level.</p></div>Langley

Project UpdateProject Update<div class="ExternalClass9EB9A6A2752D428C9241973805DF39BC"><p>The Northwest Langley Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion Project is currently in the design stage. Metro Vancouver will provide regular project updates including opportunities for feedback. Metro Vancouver is committed to minimizing disruptions to the community throughout project design and construction.</p><p><strong>Ground improvements:</strong><br></p><p>Ground improvements for the future plant are currently underway. Material movement on the project site and archaeological activities occur from Monday to Friday between 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
