Community gardens support health and wellness, community engagement, and connection to the environment. Gardening encourages food security by allowing participants to grow their own food and/or donate what they have grown. Additionally, gardening provides an outlet for physical activity, stress relief and creation of friendships through community involvement.
Metro Vancouver Housing is committed to supporting the development of community gardens at its housing sites. As such, established gardens are located at the following sites and "growing."
Whether you're a green thumb or just starting out, Metro Vancouver’s Grow Green Guide is here to help! Created in partnership with UBC Botanical Garden, it is amazing guide for eco-friendly gardening.
