Provide feedback on proposed amendments to the zoning bylaw
After the province introduced new housing legislation in late 2023, Metro Vancouver reviewed the
Electoral Area A Consolidated Zoning Bylaw and identified amendments that could be made to better align with
provincial policy guidance.
These amendments would relax setbacks and height restrictions in residential zones. Proposed amendments to the Barnston Island Zone are based on previous public engagement. They would simplify the zoning regulations for private lands that are in the Agricultural Land Reserve (ALR), which are already subject to these
policies and rules.
