Invest Vancouver Welcomes US High-Tech 3D Sensor CompanyInvest Vancouver Welcomes US High-Tech 3D Sensor Company<div class="ExternalClass118DAC9E35C04C4BB2A9BC3A11BF8F6F"><p>​<a href="https://subscription.metrovancouver.org/sites/Media/default.aspx?jg=1b7a6f27-3fea-4226-ac68-511dc26f9d41&eg=4f66fa23-1fea-4dd2-a7f2-714887c92c9e&lg=a5d9c941-43db-4ef0-9155-e61cbc844cb8&ltp=c">Invest Vancouver</a>, <a href="https://subscription.metrovancouver.org/sites/Media/default.aspx?jg=1b7a6f27-3fea-4226-ac68-511dc26f9d41&eg=4f66fa23-1fea-4dd2-a7f2-714887c92c9e&lg=33f77938-f3d5-4a52-935d-2e11d6ebda72&ltp=c">Metro Vancouver's</a> regional economic development service, is pleased to welcome US-based optical semiconductor innovator <a href="https://subscription.metrovancouver.org/sites/Media/default.aspx?jg=1b7a6f27-3fea-4226-ac68-511dc26f9d41&eg=4f66fa23-1fea-4dd2-a7f2-714887c92c9e&lg=a5a0fb7f-d54d-4520-81a6-c86a07efea77&ltp=c">Lumotive</a> to the region.<br></p><p>Lumotive's award-winning technology allows next-generation consumer, mobility, and industrial automation products to have much more advanced sensors. Their technology can be applied to autonomous driving, security systems, the metaverse, and more.</p><p>Invest Vancouver supported Lumotive through its site selection process, which led to the Redmond, Washington-based company choosing Burnaby for its first Canadian location.</p><p>“Lumotive's expansion into Metro Vancouver adds high-quality jobs and grows our high-tech business ecosystem. This addition to our already-thriving high-tech hub increases our global competitiveness and ability to attract foreign direct investment." said George V. Harvie, Chair of Metro Vancouver's Board of Directors.</p><p>“On behalf of Invest Vancouver, we are beyond pleased to welcome global leading-edge firm Lumotive to Metro Vancouver. Our region's many competitive advantages helped deliver this deal, among them our deep pool of diverse and skilled talent and proximity to Lumotive's US offices. We expect Lumotive's move to serve as a magnet for other firms seeking our favourable business and innovation ecosystem," said Linda Buchanan, Chair of Invest Vancouver's Management Board.</p><p>“Burnaby is home to a growing hub of innovative high-tech companies, and it is fantastic to have the support of Metro Vancouver to attract even more businesses to this sector," said Mike Hurley, Mayor of the City of Burnaby. “I am excited to welcome Lumotive to Burnaby and see them grow and prosper as part of our business community."</p><p>Lumotive has already hired 11 employees, and plans to add nine more by the end of the year. Its Burnaby team will initially focus on developing new applications for the company's patented Light Control Metasurface™ 3D sensor tech, and may later expand to other functions like customer support and administration.</p><p>“Metro Vancouver has an exceptional start-up ethos that's well suited for innovative ideas.
