Certain commercial and institutional sectors have codes of practice instead of permit requirements.
These codes of practice have sector requirements for the installation and operation of wastewater treatment works and procedures in order to minimize the discharge of specific contaminants to the sanitary sewer. The purpose of these codes of practice is to protect the wastewater collection and treatment infrastructure, the receiving environment, and sewer worker/public health and safety. These codes automatically apply to all businesses within these sectors. Registration is not required.
