About

Metro Vancouver is a federation of 21 municipalities, one electoral area, and one treaty First Nation that collaboratively plans for and delivers regional-scale services.

Metro Vancouver undertakes communications and behaviour change campaigns to support zero waste objectives, waste reduction and diversion targets established in the Integrated Solid Waste and Resource Management Plan, in partnership with its member jurisdictions.

In support of Metro Vancouver’s waste reduction targets, the Create Memories, Not Garbage campaign focuses on reducing waste during the holiday season by encouraging residents to celebrate the holidays in ways that produce less waste, such as giving experiences or gifts that last, wrapping gifts with less, using sustainable decorations, and avoiding food waste.
