Program description
Salmon make a forest healthy in surprising ways. Explore the extraordinary life cycle of salmon and the adaptations that help them survive from stream to ocean, and back again. Learn how they fertilize trees and feed more than 100 animal species, including us. Look for spawning salmon and find evidence of how these amazing fish increase biodiversity.
Sample activities (may vary depending on the location, leader, group age, or teacher request):
- Salmon Life Cycle Match-up: Review the salmon life cycle by placing pictures of their life stages in the correct habitat.
- Salmon Bone Mystery: Search for salmon bones and find out how they get to the forest.
Payment
Once the program is booked, we will email you an invoice with instructions to pay by:
- Credit card by calling 604-432-6430 (preferred), or
- Cheque payable to "Metro Vancouver Regional District"
Payment needs to be made no later than two weeks after receiving your invoice.
Cancellation policy
Programs take place in all weather conditions, unless deemed unsafe by Metro Vancouver. A $25 administration fee is retained for all cancellations and date changes. No refund will be issued if you cancel less than two weeks before your program date.
