Program description
Frogs, diving beetles, and dragonflies are some of the curious and diverse creatures that live in the underwater world of ponds. Discover more about their fantastic adaptations, life cycles, and how they interact with each other and their environment. Take a closer look as you catch and release these delicate creatures.
Sample activities (may vary depending on the location, leader, group age, or teacher request):
- Pond Dip: Collect aquatic organisms from the edge of the pond, learn how to identify them, and discover how they change as they grow.
Note: For the protection of sensitive habitats and animals, pond dipping is only allowed during booked Metro Vancouver Regional Parks programs.
- Frog Life Lottery: Role play how hard it is to survive to adulthood as a frog through this life cycle game.
- Heron Sneak: Learn how prey survive predators in this game of heron-and-frog (cat-and-mouse).
Payment
Once the program is booked, we will email you an invoice with instructions to pay by:
- Credit Card (online or over the phone)
- Mail in a cheque
Payment must be made no later than two weeks after receiving your invoice.
Cancellation policy
Programs take place in all weather conditions, unless deemed unsafe by Metro Vancouver. A $25 administration fee is retained for all cancellations and date changes. No refund will be issued if you cancel less than two weeks before your program date.
