Nutrifor provides nutrients and organic matter to:
- Rebuild soil and re-introduce vegetation to mine sites and gravel pits
- Fertilize rangeland, hayfields and forests
- Absorb methane gas and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from decommissioned landfills
In BC’s interior, where topsoil is often scarce, Nutrifor has helped to rehabilitate areas affected by mining, to close landfills and to restore productivity to exhausted agricultural lands. More locally, Metro Vancouver uses Nutrifor to restore habitat in its regional parks.
Product details
Nutrifor is the brand name for Metro Vancouver biosolids. Nutrifor can be used as a fertilizer, soil amendment and can be mixed with sand and high quality sawdust to create new soil. While chemical fertilizers often need to be re-applied, the benefits of Nutrifor last for years. A one-time application of Nutrifor is all that is usually needed for land reclamation projects.
