Program description
Introduce students to Metro Vancouver’s watersheds through an engaging, curriculum connected, in-class program facilitated by a watershed educator, who brings the watersheds to you. A mix of thinking and movement-based activities will keep students engaged in a fun and memorable way as we explore where our drinking water comes from, water use, sustainability, and what makes watershed ecosystems important.
Planning for your program
This program includes slideshow and video components. The classroom must have audio/visual equipment (a projector and speakers) for presenters to connect to.
Curriculum connections
Programs meet grade-specific curriculum for students in Grade 2. Contact us to discuss options for facilitating water education for other grade levels.
Activities tell the story of water and our local landscapes. Concepts covered include the water cycle, watersheds, BC’s natural resources, the interconnectedness of living and non-living things, and water conservation.
