Program description
Discover the treasures of Metro Vancouver’s Watersheds through an engaging, curriculum connected, virtual program where our facilitator visits your class via video call with a series of activities and videos to bring the watersheds alive. We explore the concepts of water use, sustainability and what makes watershed ecosystems important through fun, student-centered activities.

This program will be delivered through the video communications platform (Zoom, Teams, Google Meet) used by your school. Equipment required:
- Laptop or iPad with camera
- Projector or smartboard
- Speakers
Curriculum connections
This program has been uniquely designed for students in Grades 4 and 5. Age-appropriate, relevant and curriculum connected activities help to weave the story of water and local landscapes in a fun and memorable way. Concepts covered include the water cycle, watersheds, weather, B.C.’s natural resources, the interconnectedness of living and non-living things, sustainability, and the importance of personal and social responsibility for the environment.
This program supports development of core competencies in critical thinking, personal awareness, and social responsibility while highlighting the following specific curriculum connections:
