Thank You!
During spring and summer 2024, Metro Vancouver engaged residents and the broader community about the Drinking Water Management Plan Update. Thank you to everyone who took the time to learn about and provide feedback on the plan. Your input is important to us and will be used to draft the goals and guiding principles of Metro Vancouver’s Drinking Water Management Plan Update.
We will share a summary of what we heard soon. In the meantime, if you have any questions or comments about this project, please email us at

The Drinking Water Management Plan is the overarching plan for Metro Vancouver and its member municipalities, which sets the direction and priority for regional drinking water initiatives. This plan has three goals:
- Provide high-quality drinking water.
- Ensure the sustainable use of water resources.
- Ensure the efficient supply of water.
It lays out the priority for drinking water initiatives such as new infrastructure, identifying additional water supplies, and managing watersheds as natural assets.
The 2014 Progress Report on the 2011 Drinking Water Management Plan captures the current planning and management of Metro Vancouver’s drinking water resources. The plan uses an adaptive management approach, which includes progress reporting. This progress report looks at goals, strategies, actions, priorities, and performance.
