Fraser River CrossingFraser River Crossing

Diverting flows from Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows to the Northwest Langley Wastewater Treatment Plant requires two new sewer pipes. Construction of these two pipes is now complete and they will be commissioned following the completion of the treatment plant upgrades.

These two pipes run parallel to the Golden Ears Bridge and extend from the new pump station in Maple Ridge, under the Fraser River, to the treatment plant. The crossing was built using a construction method called horizontal directional drilling, which involves drilling a tunnel under the riverbed to reduce impacts to the river.

Township of Langley and City of Maple RidgeProject
